Strenthening of Panchayati Raj

GPSVS is making all out efforts to strengthen panchayats as units of local self governance in 40 gram panchayats of six development blocks of the district.

Under this training and workshops covering roles and responsibilities of women and Dalit panchayat members, gram sabha strengthening and contingency plan reparation of community based disaster preparedness are organised at the panchayat, block and district levels. Training have also been organised on development of model panchayats.

Panchayat members' sensitisation camps on the following issues are regularly organised:

• Elementary educational facilities to the poor and dropouts
• Women's active role in self-governance
• Micro planning through gram sabha
• Entitlements benefits for women, Dalits and marginalised
• Disaster preparedness
• Women group formation and strengthening
• Communal harmony
• Exploration of sustainable livelihood opportunities

Before each election to the panchayats, Pre Election Voter Awareness Campaign (PEVAC) has been organised.
